Two is better than one...

Two bombs went off in Colombo today. Douglas Devananda managed to escape another attempt on his life. Sixteen or so innocent civilians at the Nugegoda bus stop weren't so lucky. Doug's PR guy was also among the unfortunate. I don't know what to say. I heard a government guy say something to the effect of due to the progress the SLA is making in the north, the LTTE is left with only one way of retaliating. Therefore these kind of attacks are to be expected....blah blah blah. Right, tell that to the families of the people who died today.

This fucking war is killing innocent people in the North or killing innocents in the south. One way or the other innocent people are losing their lives, or in the case of the people in the north losing their lives and/or their homes. A friend of mine who knows a woman who lives in one of the border villages was telling me about an attack on the village a few days ago. Some people were shot dead and the others just ran and hid. Apparently it's day-to-day living for them. The JHU, JVP and other fuckers policy makers who wanted this stupid war are to blame for the loss of life today. No one else. The LTTE maybe responsible for the bombing. But that's what they do. That's who they are and that's what they want. The people in high places are directly responsible for allowing the terrorist organization to achieve what they want.

Its about time these fools, along with the public who support these fools to grow up. Its time we all woke up and realized that killing a few tigers and smashing a few of their bases is not going to win us this war. Call Ranil a poof, a pansy, but when the boy was running the show there were a lot less bombs going off. Rajapakse can put up as many posters or hoardings and plaster the whole of Colombo with Ali-Koti givisuma... posters, but it's not going to bring back the the innocent people who die because of his ego. He can tell the media that we are winning the war, tell us that 150 tiger cadres were killed today in an air-raid or even tell us that they managed to kill Prabha. But it still isn't going to make matters better. Like Gandhi said, there's no road to peace. Peace is the road.

It's high time something got done. Something in the form of peace. Not something in the form of war. Any idiot can go to war but it takes a lot for someone to really commit to peace. Am sure its nice to ride in fancy cars with lots of STF boys clearing the path for you. But it's not so nice when you are standing at a bus halt waiting to get home and you get blown to pieces. Its time the leftists, the Buddhist monks and the rest of the ignorant fools woke up to reality. This is not a war that we or the Tigers are going to win. Both parties will kill innocent people, while they try to get the other party to succumb to their point of view.

I would like to see the policy makers of this country to be put in a position where they are directly accountable for the decisions they make. We shall then see if they make the same kinda decisions or whether they'd be all out for peace. I'm positively sick and angry at what's going on. People tell me that I shouldn't care cause there's nothing I can do. At least am writing this post, in the hope that it will stir up something. I can't just sit around and watch these fuckers take the country I was born in and turn in to a cesspit. I shouldn't get worked up cause I can't do anything about it is a sorry excuse. I get worked up because I care. I care about those people who lost their lives today for no fault of theirs. They lost their lives because those idiots that we sent to parliament can't be bothered with anything beyond their benefits. I spit on such assholes who step up to take a man's vote and turn it in to a mockery; it's downright insulting. Its time this country woke up and all of us who care got together and did something. Something, anything. Anything to show that none of the people, party politics aside want this fucking war....
